Welcome to Munson Township. A rural community nestled in south-central Stearns County, within Central Minnesota. Established in May 1859, the township spans 37.6 square miles, comprising 34.6 square miles of land and 3.0 square miles of water. The average elevation is 1,089 feet, characterized by rolling hills and farmland.

The Sauk River meanders through the landscape, contributing to the 14 lakes of the Horseshoe Chain. Other notable lakes inside the township area are Big Lake, Thein Lake and Roschien Lake.

According to the 2023 Census, Munson Township is home to 1,383 residents across 527 households, with an average household size of 2.6 people. The median age is 42.5, with 26% of residents under 18 and 22% over 65. The population density is 40.1 people per square mile.
